December 27, 2017 and I am presenting Easton Kiwanis members my Christmas gift to them: a new Easton Kiwanis website unveiled publically yesterday. Try out the new webpage and let me know what you think. There’s an INDEX at the top of the page with many drop-down listings for member information and then there is another INDEX in the middle of the webpage with information for many other features including the CURRENT NEWS. At the top INDEX is a MEMBERS ONLY which is password protected. Check your emailed newsletter for the PASSWORD at the top heading. And every time you click on any of the various links the photo at the top will change. This is still a work-in-progress and I’m looking for comments and suggestions both good and bad. This new webpage is created to work with desktop/laptops, tablets and smartphones equally well. One of the new features is the CURRENT NEWS will show in dated order the previous news articles by just scrolling down so if you missed something or want to review a prior event, it will be there. And the CALENDAR page will show whatever dates I have information for in the future both meetings and other events. And here is some other news. Vic recently reported that the Salvation Army “Ding-A-Lings” on December 16th had a good day for donations. “The Kiwanis kettle collected $534.73, one of the highest as I remember. I’m sure having the “K- Kids” there helped. Thanks for to all the bell ringers, and to Walt for helping to get the kids there.” Next Wednesday we’re back into our regular schedule, noon at the Pomfret Club when we will have Palmer Kiwanis member Jeff Finnegan presenting a current topic about the Opioid Crisis and how it affects the family when someone dies.
HAPPY NEW YEAR and don’t forget to look for the Kiwanis International’s float in the Rose Parade New year’s Day.
